BRWR Privacy Policy

BRWR are a not for profit voluntary organisation primarily supporting Syrian refugees in Redditch and Bromsgrove districts

BRWR collects the personal data of their supporters, which has been provided to us on attendance sheets at the public meetings we held or provided to us with a request “Please add me to your mailing list”.

The personal data (data that can be linked to an identifiable person), which has been collected is:

  • Firstname
  • Lastname
  • Email address

The data is stored on Mailchimp, which BRWR use to send emails. It is not shared with anyone. MailChimp expect BRWR to obtain the consent of their supporters to use their email addresses. This consent must be explicit and verifiable. Mailchimp’s privacy policy can be found here:

Volunteers who deliver Refujuice store customers’ postal address and phone number.

Supporters can ask what data is stored about them or ask to be removed from the database by emailing info@brwr.uk.

BRWR will only retain supporters’ data for as long as it remains in operation, in order that it can send emails.

To comply with GDPR, BRWR must get the consent of volunteers and supporters to use their email addresses. This consent must be explicit and verifiable.

  • Verifiable consent requires a written record of when and how someone agreed to let you process their personal data.
  • Explicit consent requires that each contact takes an action to consent
