Thanks to all of those who came to the fashion show and to the organisers and models, who made it such an enjoyable event. The show attracted an audience of 170 people and raised more than £1600 for BRWR, including £200 on the cake stall. Thanks to all who bought tickets, cake and clothes, to all who helped out on the day and to everyone who baked a cake.
Thirteen volunteer models, mostly Ukrainian refugees, strutted the catwalk at Bromsgrove Methodist Centre, which kindly provided its facilities for free. The show was followed with a discount sale including the outfits showcased by the models.
Organiser Jenny Jones was delighted with the turnout. “It was brilliant to see the hall jam-packed full of people supporting the important work that BRWR volunteers do,” she said.
“The generosity of the audience and the church will allow us to continue to extend the hands of help and friendship to refugees and asylum seekers as they seek to create new lives in our communities.”
