1) The translations of the publicity document that asks signees whether they are happy to be asked to consider taking part in publicity will be trialled with native speakers to check the translations are acceptable before all refugees are given the paperwork.
2) Funding bids have been rejected by Homes for Ukraine. Moves will be made to better understand why this happened.
3) All BRWR policies will be reviewed or rewritten to comply with the requirements for charity status.
4) BRWR is still awaiting confirmation of £4900 funding from the Holidays Activities & Food funding stream via Redditch Council for Easter holiday activities.
5) Two canal trips will take place this year with priority being given to those who have not participated before.
6) BRWR intends to repeat the stall that was set up for last year’s Bromsgrove Court Leet celebrations. This will coincide with Refugee Week (15 – 21 June). A display in Redditch Library is also being planned.
7) The fashion show will be repeated in October with a date to be confirmed.
8) Refugee groups all presented positive reports especially relating to the Ukrainian Cafes being run by two refugees which are proving very popular – and were recently featured in a Central TV news item marking the third anniversary of the invasion.
9) A new Afghan family has moved into a house in Barnt Green.
10) A successful and well-attended friendship group meeting was held at the end of January.
11) An online data base is being set up to store BRWR documentation.
12) A document collating BRWR’s language teaching is being set up.
13) An Arabic speaking refugee is getting additional support at school thanks to the involvement of BRWR.
