Stylish support for refugees

Bromsgrove and Redditch Welcome Refugees (BRWR) has organised a fund-raising discount fashion show, offering a catwalk show followed by a sale of top-quality outfits for women from well-known high street stores. Many items will be available at discounts of up to 75%.

All ticket sales will benefit BRWR, which currently offers a range of support for around 200 refugees from Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine, who are now living in the two towns.

Friendship and help are provided by a band of about 100 volunteers who give practical assistance to those seeking sanctuary as they start to create new lives away from their war-torn home countries.
BRWR committee member Bob Jefford said the show was one of the charity’s main annual fund-raising events.

“This is a great way for people in Bromsgrove to show their support for this nation’s tradition of welcoming people who have been forced to flee often unimaginable horrors in their home countries, to seeking sanctuary in our communities.” he said.

“It’s also a great way to snap up some fabulous clothes at bargain prices, and to help BRWR continue its important work.”

The fashion show will be held on October 18th at Bromsgrove Methodist Centre, on Stratford Road, starting at 2 pm. Tickets are £8 in advance via info@bwrwr.uk or £9 on the door.
